Counselling & Psychotherapy
Counselling and Psychotherapy are designed to give you the opportunity to help you make sense of your experiences, and feelings in a safe and confidential space. Time which is dedicated to you for talking and processing - being heard and supported by your therapist.
Counselling will allow you to explore perceptions and interpretations of yourself, your relationships and the world around you. It is a process of finding self-acceptance and understanding the world you live in, as it is, as it has been and recreating a future through discovering your own strengths and needs. Become more positive through the session work and create clear boundaries, better understanding and personal direction. Counselling sessions run for 1-12 weeks initially.
Psychotherapy is generally more long-term, deeper psychological work. Sessions may run for 12 weeks or longer.
I work using a number of approaches; Humanistic, Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and creative therapy. I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques which may require some additional work outside of sessions.
Through the work, insight directs the best approach for each individual client.
